Pierrot Ngadi was born and grew up in Bandundu Province and Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo and has lived in Ireland for many years. Pierrot is a writer, peace and human rights advocate, lobbyist, and business consultant. He is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin, School of Ecumenics, and holds a MPHIL degree on International Peace Studies from 2003. He is a Universal Ambassador of Peace, Founder & Chair of the Congolese Anti-Poverty Network & Founder of Sport 4 Peace & Community Development.
Pierrot joins Noel Casserly and Eugene Hendrick at SmartEarth which advocates for, and promotes action on, climate action and sustainable development. Pierrot is a board member of many organisations including, New Communities Partnership, DLR Integration Forum, Roger Casement Summer School, Voice of Congo, Dalkey Migrant Support Group and a member of Strategic Policy Committee in Dun Laoghaire Rathdown. Pierrot has been a member of Amnesty International and Frontline Defenders in Ireland, campaigning on human rights issues. Pierrot also works for St John of God, an organisation that supports children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
Pierrot Ngadi is the author of The Congo Since Lumumba: A Story of International Plundering, a book that explores the historical exploitation of the Congo following the era of Patrice Lumumba, Congo’s first democratically elected prime minister and a key figure in its fight for independence.
